Behaviour Matrix

Narrogin Senior High School is a Positive Behaviour School (PBS).

What does this actually mean?

It means that we believe behaviour needs to be taught so that everyone understands what appropriate behaviour at school looks like, sounds like and feels like.

PBS research reveals that most students (80%) will demonstrate appropriate behaviour most of the time. Some students (about 15%) may need to be taught how to behave again, and reminded more frequently of what acceptable behaviour looks like. Classroom teachers and Heads of Learning Area will reteach these students what they need to know. About 5% of students need further teaching before they understand how to demonstrate the behaviours that are expected on our Behaviour Matrix.

Our school community, students, parents and staff, agreed to implement our current Behaviour Matrix when NSHS was asked whether or not it wanted to become a PBS school.
