In 1955, the Narrogin Agricultural Senior High School was opened; operating a 'town' campus and a 'farm' campus. In 1981 the campuses were separated into independent institutions. Since then, Narrogin Senior High School has grown; now catering for approximately 680 students. It is a genuine comprehensive senior high school which prepares students for university, Technical And Further Education and employment.

Its upper school offers academically demanding courses such as Economics, Physics and Calculus, vocationally oriented courses such as Business and Office Administration, Accounting and Furniture Cert 1 (VET), culturally focussed courses such as Music, History and Art and technologically rich courses such as Technical Graphics (VET), Information Technology and Media.

Typically students enrol as twelve year olds into year 8. There is however a significant intake of fifteen year old students into year 11, with many students choosing to live at the Narrogin Residential College.
